Artist

Out of darkness, into light, but again and again… Born to a woodworking architect and textile designer, Sonja grew up among woodshavings, oil paints and the rhythmic whoosh of looms.

Terrence Parker introduced stones, moss and the wild beauty of nature. David Genther, the discipline of single-minded dedication to an end. Function, gravity and seriousness serving form’s irresistible lightness.

Bob Ingram sheltered, cheered, played with and encouraged. Benn Colker inspired, exercising his creative muscle like an Olympic athlete, finding beauty in the unlikeliest of places.

Other teachers, too numerous to mention spoke to the soul’s dwelling in mystery and silence. Christopher Alexander dedicated it best, “To you mind of no mind, in whom the timeless way was born.”

I hope you are moved. Lovingly disturbed, silently spoken to, and return to do this again.
